What We Do...
We’re on the move! Literally! We’ve moved rehearsal locations and are ready to continue with our established routines of rehearsals and concerts. We have over 200 amateur musicians (age 18+) involved with 9 ensembles and we’re playing music for all to hear and enjoy. Do you like classical music? Jazz? Movie themes or musicals? Do
you play an instrument: Woodwind, Brass, String, or Percussion? Whether you want to play with us, or just come and enjoy the music, we welcome you. Come join us!
Why...
Sharing the universal language of music with everyone is why we exist. NHBOCOS members gain physical health benefits and crucial social interaction during rehearsals. Performing for our family, friends and community, we put aside our daily worries and enjoy a lifelong pursuit as we bring music to the world. We hope to see you soon!
Testimonial...
“New Horizons has reminded me that music doesn’t have an expiration date. I am so grateful to have rediscovered this important part of myself and to share the experience with such a welcoming community of musicians.” — Katie Young - Music Librarian
Goals...
We love our new facility but are faced with extra expenses to customize it to accommodate our needs.
We plan to install acoustic panels and other interior covering for improved sound quality. Your support will allow these enhancements for the benefit of musicians and audience members.
Did you know...
As we enter our 24th year of operation, stringed instrument and orchestral ensembles have become an important part of our musical family. Approximately 40% of our members play stringed instruments.
