Intro to Jazz

This class is for beginners, intermediate and advanced students who want to learn more about jazz music and jazz improvisation.  We will utilize rhythmic development, scales,  simple forms and jazz style.  If you know your major scales, you know much of what you need for developing Jazz Improvisation.  Students will learn to advance their creativity at whatever level they may be.  Bring your instruments and be ready to start playing jazz!  All instruments are welcome.  As the instructors say, “there are no wrong notes in jazz”!  The class is held on Wednesday evenings from 7:15 - 8:15.  Instructors:  Mark Israel and Matt Wessner.  The class is held in the sanctuary of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church located at the corner of Galley and Wooten.  For more information, please send an email to sudy1949@gmail.com.

Note: This class will only be held each session if there are at least 12 participants. If fewer than 12 applicants register, the class is cancelled and refunds are given to all who registered. If you would like to see an Intro to Jazz class this session, bring your friends!

We make music, we build community, and we improve our health with every note we play.
