Kicks Band Performs this week

KICKS JAZZ TO PERFORM TWICE THIS WEEK

The Kicks Jazz Band (with Leader Tom Fowler) will be showcased twice this week and we invite NHBCOS members to be a part of their audience!

On Wednesday night, they have been asked to perform at one of the city’s

Park concerts—this time being in Bear Creek Park on the southwest

side of Colorado Springs. The park is located on 21st and Argus Boulevard and the actual site is north (across the street) from the tennis courts and south of the dog park!

Time for the event is 6:00. You are asked to bring a blanket or lawn chair since no chairs will be furnished. Parking is plentiful at the site and also

across the street at the tennis courts. These park concerts are very popular

and the Kicks group will likely be playing to a capacity crowd.

Then on Friday night, our Friends organization is sponsoring the first of 3

Fundraising Concerts—this one, the Kicks Jazz at Cañon (Creekside), 1201 W. Cheyenne Road. A BBQ always kicks off these concerts, and our crew will begin serving at 5:30. Food includes hot dogs, hamburgers, and the works, all free for your generous donation! Thomas Tabrah’s Small Jazz Ensemble will be our pre-concert entertainment (5:50), and Kicks Jazz takes ‘stage’ at 6:30.

Since this is another ‘concert in the park,’ you are asked to bring a chair or blanket for ease in picnicking and/or listening. Many of you are helping with the project—and we thank you for that. This just invites the rest of you to be at the event and enjoy the talents of your fellow band members.

See you there!
