Summer Concert Activities


Ed Nuccio, Director of Bands for the New Horizons Band of Colorado Springs, has released the schedule of activities for the various bands in his organization. The organization has now begun its summer semester

and will continue through mid-July. Adults 40 and over who wish to participate should contact Nuccio @ 634-2463 or 660-9866 OR email him at enuccio@aol.com. Membership is open for enrollment at any time except just prior to a public concert.

As in the past few years, Creekside Concerts at Cañon (1201 W. Cheyenne Road) are again slated: Friday, June 19th, Kicks Jazz; Friday, June 26,Concert Band; and Friday, July 17th, Symphonic Band. All concert activity will begin at 5:30 with a barbecue (hotdogs, hamburgers, and the works) provided by band members, Rob and Maureen Taylor of

Chick-fil-A) and are free to attendees for a donation to the bands. At 5:50, Thomas Tabrah and his jazz will provide entertainment, and at 6:30 the evening’s concert will begin.

Since these are outside concerts, the public is asked to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets.

Other activity by the group will include:

Wednesday, June 17th, Kicks Jazz @ Bear Creek Regional Park (Tom Fowler, Leader), 21st Street and Argus Boulevard (6-8 p.m.)

and

Wednesday, July 15th, Thomas Tabrah’s Small Jazz Ensemble (NHBCOS) at Fountain Creek Regional Park, 310 Duckwood Pond Road, Fountain.
